Alvar Aalto 400 "Tank" lounge chair, manufactured by Artek upholstered in Letters fabric designed by Gunnar Aagaard Andersen. The chair appears unused. Beautiful condition and very comfortable. Signed. Very good to excellent condition. No signs of use to the fabric. There may be insignificant light scratches on the base upon close inspection, but none that can be seen without looking very closely. We have another listing for a pair of these chairs.

The Tank chair was designed in 1936 and got its nickname from the wide profile that implemented the pioneering use of bentwood lamination techniques. The frame and armrests are crafted from a single piece of cantilevered, laminated birch plywood that loops around to form the base.

This is a 2005 authentic licensed production.
