Signed Stallion wall hanging by Evelyn Ackerman. In 1952, the Ackermans opened Jenev Design Studio. Four years later Jenev became ERA industries. With this transition, the couple began to use a wider variety of media, including textiles, wood, metal, and mosaic. Evelyn had taken weaving in college and they decided to add woven tapestries to their product line. They found a family of skilled weavers outside of Mexico City to execute the designs. To produce the handwoven all-wool tapestries, the weavers followed a full-size drawing color-keyed to yarn samples. The Ackermans' relationship with the weavers lasted for many years.
